No usual community board
Seven-Card Stud normally starts with antes. Players receive two downcards and one upcard, followed by more upcards on successive streets; the last card is usually face down. Choose your best five of seven cards.
Who acts first?
On third street, the lowest upcard generally posts the bring-in. On later streets, the active player with the strongest exposed hand acts first. The table rules handle equal upcards and exceptional dealing situations.
Betting structure and showdown
Stud commonly uses fixed-limit betting, with larger units on later streets. The best five-card hand is compared using standard high rankings; suits usually do not break showdown ties.
Stud Hi/Lo and Razz use different winning criteria. Similar names do not mean that all versions compare high hands.
