Check what the control displays
“Raise to 300” means a total contribution of 300 for the round. “Raise by 200” describes the increase above the current wager. Interfaces may display a total or an additional amount; read the control and confirmation before submitting.
100 → 300: the next minimum is 500
In a no-limit example, the big blind is 100 and A raises to 300: a 200 increment. B’s next full raise must be at least to 500, the current 300 plus 200. The rule does not require doubling 300 to 600.
Your blind counts toward your contribution
If you posted the 100 big blind and face a total of 300, calling costs another 200. Raising legally to 500 requires another 400 from you. The wager total, raise increment and chips newly added are three different numbers.
A short all-in may not reopen raising
A bets 100 and B can only go all-in to 150. B’s 50 increase is not a full 100 raise. Whether a player who already acted may raise again depends on the cumulative increase they face and the applicable rules. Players who have not yet acted retain their legal options.
Fixed-limit and pot-limit have different boundaries
These examples explain no-limit full raises. Fixed-limit uses specified betting units; pot-limit also limits the maximum raise. Live rules about a single oversized chip, verbal declarations and string bets require more than arithmetic alone.
